Retama Gun Club Info

One of the many advantages to living at Retama Village is the availability of a safe gun range for residents to practice target shooting.  The Retama Gun Club Inc., gun range is available to residents and renters of Retama Village.  The gun range is not open to the public. However, Law Enforcement Officers and Border Patrol (LEO) are also permitted to shoot at the range, in fact, we love shooting with them!

We welcome you to contact our board members should you have any questions about our facilities.

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

The Retama Gun Club registration requires all shooters to watch our Range Safety Video, sign the RGC Waiver and pay an annual maintenance fee. A Retama Gun Club range badge is issued free of charge, range badges are issued at time of registration and must be worn while at the gun range.

The 23-minute video will be shown at the Range Registration, dates are scheduled throughout the winter season and are shown on the Range Calendar.
Range Maintenance fees: Checks can be made payable to:  Retama Gun Club, Inc.

Retama Village    Single Shooter $40    Family $60

Law Enforcement Officers    $20.  *
* (LEO family and friends are NOT permitted to shoot at the RGC)

RENEWALS AND WAIVERS

All shooters are required to sign the RGC Waiver.  Waivers are renewed at the beginning of the winter season. Contact our membership chairs for information.

RANGE BADGES:

All shooters are issued a range badge and are asked to wear this badge while at the range. Badges are issued after viewing the safety video, signing the waiver and payment is received. The badges are a high quality, magnetic badge and are used from year to year. Each year a colored ‘bubble' for the corresponding year is attached to the badge.

RANGE LOCATION:

The gun range is located south of the levee, near the Rhodes Enterprise storage barns, and is east of the dirt road to the ‘palapa’ and west of the Border Patrol surveillance camera, south the Mission Reservoir.

Remember!
This is a private, member only range. Member Badges must be worn while at the range. The range is open 7 days a week, during daylight hours.

The Range runs under a Cold Range Policy – All firearms are to be COMPLETELY unloaded, with no ammunition in the firearm except at the firing line and when the range is declared HOT.

NEVER walk down range to check targets until all firearms have been placed in the proper safe position and a “range is clear” has been declared and acknowledged by the other shooters.
